Blackberry Wood, Sussex: Helicopter

Oh my word - it is not everyday that you can stay in a genuine, converted 1965 Wessex Search and Rescue helicopter! Deceptively spacious, there is room for a family of four inside - the scamps will love sitting in the cockpit! You have your own outside kitchen area, outdoor seating area, fire-pit and toilet and showers are a very short walk away. Whilst you will need to bring your own bedding and towels, the kitchen is fully fitted with cooking equipment, utensils, cutlery and crockery. Don't fancy a helicopter? This delightful place has lots of other options - a double decker bus, fire engine, 1986 Silver Bullet Airstream, as well as tree houses, a cabin and regular woodland and meadow camping pitches. It really does have everything (including Guinea Pig World!). Onsite is a well-stocked shop, wonderfully funky handcrafted and gloriously painted toilet, shower and washing up areas and two play areas for the scamps.

Hideaway Camping, Devon: Gypsy Caravan

Rosie is small, but perfectly formed. This pretty Gypsy Caravan looks perfect for a romantic, snuggily getaway. It has been lovingly restored with a double bed, seating area and wood burner. If you need a little more room though, you have your own little shelter next door, furnished with a sofa - the perfect place to curl up with a book, or lookout for visiting deer! Outside you have seating and a fire-pit. Whilst this one really is for you to get away from the scamps, if you fancy bringing the whole family Hideaway Camping also have a double decker bus, igloo and Airstream, as well as traditional camping. There is lots to explore over the 24 acres - babbling brooks, picnic areas, walking trails through the woodland, and an outdoor suite of hammocks! In addition, just in case you needed to be even more relaxed, Hideaway Camping offer several therapies on site, including Reiki, reflexology and massage. Just lovely.

The Tower, Friskney, Lincolnshire: Tank

A tank! Yes, you heard/read that correctly - a tank! Nestled on the edge of a lake, near the converted combine harvester (called Kaleb) and army ambulance you will find a fully converted and furnished tank called The Samaritan, complete with turret. Inside, the bench seating converts into a double bed, with worktop housing a kettle and toaster in addition a to a smart TV, DVD player and WiFi. At the back of the tank is an awning to give covered seating space, overlooking the beautiful lake, and your own BBQ and fire-pit. In a stroke of genius, built into the inside the back of the tank door is the fridge and extensive wine rack. A short stroll away is the shower block and toilets, as is the local pub! The Tower at RAF Wainfleet, situated in the middle of a family run farm, really is a unique place to stay - if you fancy something different to the tank, they also have a Lynx military helicopter, fire engine and Jetstream aeroplane, alongside more traditional accommodation in converted bunkers (and did we mention the combine harvester and army ambulance??). A climb up inside The Tower to the control room offers phenomenal views across the countryside, revealing the remains of boats once used for target practice on the range, a sea bank which is a site of special scientific interest and perfect for bird watching! There is so much to do here, from farm walks to bike rides, to fishing and relaxing in the communal games room - there really is plenty to keep the scamps occupied.

Hippersons Boatyard, Suffolk: Floating Glamping Pod

Fancy staying on the water, without getting your feet wet? Look no further than Secret Water, a unique and quirky luxury floating glamping pod, right on the Broads National Park in the Suffolk town of Beccles. Beautiful views of the Old Beccles bridge and the quay come for free on the fabulous deck at the front of the pod - perfect for sipping a glass of wine watching the sunset, or having breakfast with the scamps. Perfect for a family of four, with a double bed and bunks and a small, but perfectly formed, kitchenette. If you fancy heading out on the water, you have exclusive use of your own rowing boat, but you can also upgrade to a sailing experience if you feeling a little more adventurous. Also available for hire or booking are canoe or kayaking tours, SUP lessons or pedal boat hire. We really love the sound of Mary's Sparrows and Amazon's package, where these guys have pulled together experiences that have been recommended by their customers into one package - a reservation at the Award winning Royal Oak for their woodfired pizza on your first night, a mini hamper, a guided canoe tour and exclusive use of a self drive day boat for a day, following some guidance by the experts! Hipperson's motto is "Bringing the river to life for everyone" and we can't think of a better way to spend a weekend with our scamps!

Apple Camping, Pembrokeshire: UFO

Beam us up Scotty! We are giddy with excitement about this fabulous find! What could be more scampingly good than sleeping in your very own Flying Saucer, nestled in its own crater? Plenty of room for a family of four - a cosy double bed for the grownups and two singles (which also function as sofas). You have your own sheltered hexagonal outdoor kitchen and an eating area with everything you need for your intergalactic stay. Need more? Well, how about a sky at night laser display, stargazing dome, smoke machine for the full lunar landing experience, space invaders, defender and a remote control retracting stairs and door for when you want to take off! Oh, and the escape hatch for if you need to out manoeuvre any other worldly visitors! We love it! Honestly, scamps old and young will love this we are sure! Don't fancy beaming up in to a UFO? These guys also have a phenomenal submarine, converted private jet, a converted fuselage from an airbus, the Gin Palace - a converted 1982 31 foot Cranchi Endurance yacht and lots of quirky cabins, igloos, pods and bell tents available too! We can't wait to visit!
