Get Ready for a Spooktacular October with These 5 Easy Camping Halloween Treats!

October! It can only mean one thing - it's that time of the year where we need to brush off our ghouls, rattle our skeletons and carve our pumpkins. Camping Scamping HQ have done all the hard work so you don't have to! Keep on reading for 5 Easy Camping Halloween Treats!

Jack O' Lantern Peppers

Take three peppers and carve out suitably spooky faces. Chop cucumber, carrots, celery, baby corns, or whatever crudités your ghoulish monsters like and put into two of the lanterns. Humous, or a dip of your choice, into the third. Watch it ooze out of the mouth!

Once you've finished the crudités, rip apart the lanterns and dip those in too!

Severed Finger Hotdogs

This one has maximum gross factor for minimum effort! Simply take your hotdog sausage of choice (Dino's Famous Little Franks for us!), grab a sharp knife and get creative. A few knuckle creases here and a chipped nail there, with a splurge of ketchup on the bleeding stump and before you know it you have a severed finger in your bread roll!

Cauldron of Oozing Eyeballs

This one is our absolute favourites of all time! A cauldron (aka Dutch oven ) of eyeballs. Take some pesto mozzarella balls (for that extra slimey goo), wrap in cured meats of your choice (we went for prosciutto, salami and chorizo) and place a sliced pimento stuffed olive on top of each eyeball.

Up to you if you would prefer hot or cold - we put the Dutch oven on the fire until the cheese has melted and the meat crisps up. Then theatrically remove the lid to squeals of delight from the scamps. Serve smeared on soft white bread. Pretty delicious, for eyeballs.

Spooky Ghost Lollies

These shocked ghosts are brilliant and always a winning easy camping Halloween treat at Camping Scamping HQ. Dead easy to make before you go and keep in Tupperware in your cool box.

Simply peel some conference pairs, cut in half and remove the core with a teaspoon. Insert lolly sticks up the base of the pair (do it before you smear with chocolate!)

Slowly melt some white chocolate in a bain-marie and then smear over the outside surface of the pair halves, adding milk chocolate pips for eyes and a shocked mouth!

Put into the fridge to set. Eat quickly once they come out, as the chocolate slips off the wet pair flesh when they are held up for a long period of time!

Jelly Brain

We got this mould from Amazon and it can be a bit hit and miss as to whether the jelly comes out in one piece or we go for the "scrambled brains" look! Trial and error over the years has taught us to make the jelly pretty stiff to have the best chance of having an intact brain!! Either way, everyone loves jelly! Bit mind over matter when it looks like a wobbling brain though!

Vampire Blood Bags

Nothing says Halloween more than sucking your juice from a hospital blood bag! We got ours from Amazon and they came as a pack of 10, complete with a massive syringe to fill them up with.

So there you have it, 5 easy camping Halloween treats! Happy haunting and happy cooking, my fellow ghouls and goblins. May your Halloween campfire party be spooktacular and your taste buds be wickedly delighted with our Camping Halloween Treats. Now go forth and conjure up some devilishly delicious delicacies!

Mwahahaha!
