This is a firm favourite in the Camping Scamping calendar and marks the moment that we are officially allowed to be Christmassy! We love Christmas at Bedgebury Pinetum.
The air tingles with excitement as you step into the fabulous world of Bedgebury Pinetum during the festive season. The magic of Christmas lights dances through the towering pines, transforming the Pinetum into a dazzling wonderland that would make even the Grinch's heart grow three sizes.
As you wander along the meandering paths, a symphony of music and colours unfolds. We started at neon simplistic Christmas trees, through a pulsating tunnel of gorgeousness and into choreographed dancing lights on the lake.
The only frustration of the evening was waiting for food. Only three savory food vans for what must have been several hundred people meant that we had to queue for what felt like an eternity. Certainly toes were numb and cheeks could no longer be felt. However, the jerk chicken loaded fries and the loaded mac n' cheese was pretty delicious!
Then it was off to discover the rest of the trail. A favourite was the vertical dancing light reeds (mesmerising) and that liquid sky. Understated but cute were the fireflies dancing through the trees and we loved the simplicity of the stars.
Some installations were the same as last time - but we love the arched avenue of lights and the 3D shadows so all is forgiven.
I think it was the simple installations this year that really impressed us - the Christmas trees I mentioned before, but also the stars with their squiggly bottoms. Just loved them!
The joy of the Christmas lights at Bedgebury Pinetum is not just in the illuminations but in the shared warmth of the experience.
