Brewing Bliss: The Importance and Ritual of Fabulous Camping Coffee

There's something magical about waking up in the great outdoors – the rustling leaves, the crisp morning air, and the promise of a new day. But for many of us, the day truly begins with that first steaming cup of coffee. Let's explore into the delightful world of brewing bliss and explore the importance and ritual of making coffee while camping.

The Sunrise Sip: The sun peeks over the horizon, casting a warm glow on your campsite. As you emerge from your cosy sleeping bag, the anticipation of that first sip of coffee sets the tone for the day. It's not just a beverage; it's a ritual, a moment of quiet reflection before the day's adventures unfold.

The Campfire Connection: Ah, the sweet aroma of coffee mingling with the scent of burning wood. The campfire becomes more than a source of warmth – it's the stage for the coffee-making ritual. Invest in a quality campfire coffee maker, and let the crackling flames be the backdrop to your morning routine. The hiss of brewing coffee and the dancing flames create a symphony of nature's sounds.

Choosing the Right Beans: The foundation of a great cup of campfire coffee lies in the beans. Consider packing your favourite coffee beans or exploring local blends from the region you're camping in. Grinding the beans at the campsite adds an extra layer to the experience – the earthy scent filling the air as you prepare for your morning pick-me-up.

Tools of the Trade: While instant coffee has its place, true camping coffee aficionados might opt for a more hands-on approach. Invest in a portable coffee grinder and a reliable coffee press or pour-over device. The sound of grinding beans and the slow drip of coffee brewing become the soundtrack to your wilderness mornings.

Creative Campsite Concoctions: Camping coffee is more than just black gold – it's an opportunity to get creative. Experiment with add-ins like cinnamon, nutmeg, or even a splash of your favourite spirit for an adult twist. Embrace the freedom of the outdoors by crafting your own signature campsite concoction.

Sharing the Brew: Coffee has a way of bringing people together, and the camping experience is no exception. Invite your camping companions to join in the ritual. Share stories, laughter, and that steaming cup of joe as you bond over the simple joy of starting the day together.

The king of portable expresso machines. Whilst you can purchase the pump on its own, we thought that as it is Christmas we would include the Handpresso Pump Set in our review. You have been really, really good this year for Father Christmas haven't you? The Handpresso Pump, designed in France and launched in 2008, is the first ever portable expresso machine. It looks a lot like and works a lot like a bicycle pump. Once you hit the magic 16-bar pressure, you hit release and out comes a creamy espresso. This set comes with a thermos flask for your hot water (needs to be kept at 90°C for the perfect coffee experience), 4 non-breakable cups and a napkin. The pump itself is available in three colours (black, silver and grey) and is, frankly, genius! Versatility is the name of the game and it has two different portafilters - one for pods, the other for ground coffee. Grab yourself some of your favourite pods or grounds, fill the flask and off you go! I think we are a little bit in love with this one.
